Budapest
What a fantastic room to wake up in!
We did some more sightseeing, mostly in the castle district in the huge history museum. We had an accident where I almost bit off Eva's lip during a simultaneous pretzel-eating maneuver, but although blood was let, it was not as tragic as initally feared.
Before heading out for the day we had stored our luggage in lockers at the train station. When we got back to the station right before the train was to leave (~4pm), we found that the locker room was chained shut! There was another entrance to the locker room that appeared to be opened so we ran down the hallway and found that we would have to go through the station baggage center to get to the lockers so we ran through the room as train officials were hollering at us in Hungarian. We managed to get the luggage out of the locker and passed back out the baggage center as the officials scolded us. Now we needed to drop postcards in the mail, so we started frantically searching for a mail box which is not so easy when you have little idea of what a Hungarian mail box will look like. After running around for serveral minutes and even considering paying a local person to mail them for us Eva finally found the mail box (for reference: it's red and hanging on the wall). Immediately we were running down the platform for the last train to Vienna which was all set to go.
We managed to catch it before it took off, but it was just in the nick of time! If I had had to pick a city to be stuck in so far, it would have been Budapest, but I had been feeling sick ever since that miserable day in Vienna and it was getting worse so I was not in the mood for any hassles.
When we got back to Vienna we went out for a little bit, but I was not in a good mood so I was back in bed at Aunt Eva's house fairly soon.
